I am not understanding something here, when you create an account with google local and submit a site, how long does it take to show up on the google page? After creating the account it said "within 24 hours" but that was not the case, it's been almost a week now?

How long to the changes you submit to your Places Page take to show up? Is that what you're asking? If so, it should be very quickly, if not immediately.
How long will it take for your Places Page to show up in a search result is another matter entirely. That may never happen.
