With much of the articles that are written now by so-called "experts" are simply a rehashing or regurgitation of practices and "facts" from 1999.

GOOD optimisation hasn't really changed, providing pages that are created for USERS is still the best way, links are still advertising and promotion, (yes they may help with ranking in Google but hey! Moving up through the ranks is also called promotion), and search engines are still not the only way to get converting traffic.

The easiest way is simply to copy the URL where your content is posted to and paste it in the Google search browser. If it shows up, then you know your content is indexed.
Otherwise, Jill is correct in saying to look it up in Google Webmaster Tool, though you do need patience so allow 2 weeks or so.

And how in the world would that tell you what keywords the URL was getting found for?
