I'm new to using Wordpress, and wondering if there may be any compelling reasons why I either "should" or "should not" enter post tags if the term matches the name of the category that the post is going into.
For instance, if a fashion blog, and a post is going into either "skirts" or "dresses" category, should a post tag of "skirts" or "dresses" be used or just left alone?

Just leave it alone, the "tag clouds" only make your pages look like crap!

They're a good way to keyword stuff your pages in a way that "seems" legit.

Let me add my voice to the chorus of "don't do this". Tags can be used responsibly but that takes thought and practice and, frankly, I don't think it's worth the effort.
