Yes, this seems to be the case - based on a quick test.
I just did an image search for one of my own photos. When I clicked on the photo in the results, the next page showed the EXIF data in a panel on the right-hand side (date taken, camera type, focal length, flash usage, etc).
I then added the camera type to the search term. This returned a different set of photos. The first few I looked at were all taken by that camera.
Not a very exhaustive test, but interesting.
