I get the same problem with Opera 7.50 preview 3 and Firefox 0.8. Well, actually the problem isn't exactly the same but very similar. IE is fine. Here is Opera.

I also noticed that a preview somehow loses the attachment. ;)

For what it's worth, it's not just Jani. I'm seeing the exact same thing on Firefox/WinXP.

I get it too. IE is just much more forgiving than the more compliant browsers, so there must be something in the code here that's not quite right.

The CD advert jumps around depending on how wide I make the window in Safari. If the window is stretched wide it is fine otherwise things get funky.

I've been meaning to bring this up for weeks, but I've never had my screen grabber fired up when I'm here and thinking about it. lol

Thanks guys...but does anyone know how to fix it?

I'm thinking I need a smaller ad.

Need to put up an ad for the seminar now anyway...will see if I can make it smaller.

I think it's more of a positioning than a size problem. It's showing up on the "Help Search" line (overlapping those links) rather than up top where it belongs. It could be as simple as fixing your double div closure:

<div id='logostrip'> <- Open
  <a href='http://www.highrankings.com/forum/' title='High Rankings Search Engine Optimization Forum'><img src='style_images/Main_Ski-641/logo4.gif' alt='High Rankings SEO Forum' border="0"  /></a>

&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="http://www.highrankings.com/seo-seminar-cd.htm?c1=forum"><img src='style_images/Main_Ski-641/seminarcdad.gif' align='right' alt='Search Engine Marketing Seminar CD' border="0" /></a><!-- AD HERE  -->
</div> <- Close
</div> <- What's this closing?

It is also likely that your problem is in that your logo image isn't aligned anywhere, but your ad image is. So, your ad image is aligning right BELOW the bottom of the logo image. You could either:

A) Put the Ad image BEFORE the logo image in the source.
B) Align the Logo image to the left.
C) Make a style that positions the top of the ad image at the top of the div.

Yep, give the images height and width properties.
<img src='style_images/Main_Ski-641/logo4.gif' alt='High Rankings SEO Forum' border="0" height="HEIGHT-IN-PIXELS" width="WIDTH_IN_PIXELS  />

Usually, this makes things a tad more obvious for the browser, specially as divs and tables, can be rendered in any order, and therer isn't really a set rule about divs actually forcing other code south on the screen. Anyhoo, that should make it look fine (fingers crossed!!!)

Well, you're already past my coding abilities...

I'll see if Scottie can make head's or tails of this and go for it.

I didn't even notice this thread before because I had no idea anyone was talking about THIS forum having display problems...just thought it was a thread a bout Opera and Firefox!

Scottie probably hasn't noticed it for the same reason. I'm gonna change the thread title and also mention it to her.

Thanks guys!

Everyone please switch to IE6. Thank you for your understanding.

;)

I'll take a look at it tonight- obviously some buggy things happening. Thanks for bringing it up- I wasn't aware there was an issue.

That would be funny, Scottie, if I didn't see the comment so often from so many people who are serious. Don't they realize it's like a car wash that says "Please, if you have a foreign car go back and buy a Ford before washing it here?"

Sorry, mini-rant over. ;) Good luck on tracking the problem!

I noticed the same thing on AOL 8.0 when the add went up. I almost worked up the courage to mention it ... almost ;)

Is it any better now? Let me know- extra div close removed, right-align removed, height and width now specified.

Yup. All visible now. Not sure if it's lining up the way you exactly want, but it looks good and I can finally see that that is an ad for a CD. :naughty: (No Time To Travel... is a bit dark for the blue GB tho...)

This is how it lines up:

Logo|Tagline|Ad|Space

Was thinking you might want:
Logo|Tagline|Space|Ad

Looks good either way, though. At least I know what it is and I can access the help and search functions now. :cheers:
