Dears,
I have a client who wants to buy a domain for his business based on keywords.
I searched for the keyword as a domain".com", but it is for sure sold!
so, which is better for him:
to buy the domain but in .net or .org extension like this:
" MyClientKeyword.Net"
Or
to add another keyword or phrase like"best, fast,etc.." to the domain itself & buy it as a .com like this:
"AdditionalKeywordToMyClientKeyword.com" ?
Which you recommend?
"for sure the domain will be much easier to read, ie.. human friendly"
and in general, is there a huge difference in achieving top10 with other extensions rather than .com?

If the keyword you desire in .com can pull in good traffic if you rank in the top 3 then I think it could be worth it to go with a non .com extension and register the exact keyword domain.
There is no difference at all with the top level domains.
Otherwise I would go with an alternative .com

Just because the keyword is in the domain name doesn't mean your client has an advantage in creating brand value for that keyword. If there is an already established Website that dominates that space, it will be very, very difficult to prove to a search engine like Google that the new site is "brand" quality.

for my client, branding is not a big issue now, he just wants conversions. So, can't a ".net" domain comes after the ".com" domain? so, that means it won't rank on top 3-10 ?

It doesn't work that way. The search engines will show whichever site FIRST that they deem to be most IMPORTANT and RELEVANT and TRUSTWORTHY. The domain name could be "ixquiggywumple.info" and still rank first.
