Global Variables And Security

I need to retain a visitors specifics such as PostCode for the duration of their visit.
With Global Variables turned off these days, this is not quite as straightforward as it once was.

Is there a simple way to collect and keep visitor specific stuff such as PostCode between pages with Global Variables turned off ??

Use session variables.
