With everything going on this summer I seemed to have missed out on Google+. I even had an invitation, but I didn't follow up with it. Now I keep reading how their numbers keep growing, but for the last week I keep getting told they aren't taking more at the moment. Anyone know when they are going to open it up to more people or how people are still getting in when its supposedly closed to new people?

Get a fresh invite, either from a friend or from a site like gplusinfo.com, and you should be good to go.

Unless all your online friends switch over to Google+ with you, you may get burned out fairly quickly. I can only stomach so many "Google+ is so cool because ..." comments, which seems to be about 50% of what everyone is saying in the circles I am following.
Frankly, I spend more time on Twitter than on Google+ and Facebook combined.

I went to gplusinfo.com to get an invite. I'll see what happens. I went through Google last week, but haven't heard back. I guess my wait and see approach was a mistake.

I've been on Google+ for a while and see absolutely no redeeming value to it. At b est it is just another place for a backlink

Interesting. It brings me a lot of traffic when I post links to my new articles there. Nearly as much as Twitter.

Hm. I get some traffic from Google+ but I still seem to be getting more from Twitter. I would guess that Google+ is still hot mostly only with technical people.
There are few "discussions" coming through in my stream. Mostly just individual posts from people, maybe about 50% personal ramblings and 50% promoting some news article or blog post (most are NOT self-promotional, for which I am thankful). People are sharing a lot of stuff but it seems to fall into a narrow spectrum of interests.
That's just based on what I see from people who are in my stream.
