does anybody know of any clever software that can help you organise your reciprocal links.

For example it allows you to say where a return link has been added and you can set it to automatically check every month or so to make sure a webmaster hasn't removed your return link.

I use to do this manually, but its very time consuming and as i now run multiple websites its getting a very big job.

I often find people who have agreed to exchange links with you, will remove the return link without telling you, hence its quite important.

I dont have an answer for you, just a question: Why are you using outmoded 1990's SEO techniques and risking your own site's Google listing by linking to sites that you aren't actually recommending to your users?

Hi Jill, i only link to quality relevant websites within my own niche. But i still like to know if someone who has agreed to link back takes my link off without telling me.

Why would reciprocal linking like this risk my own sites Google listing?

Just to further clarify this Jill, some of the links i am talking about would be as follows.

My sites are specific to a particular area, i.r. Area A

i have an Events section on the site for Area A which includes festivals, things to do, music concerts etc.

If somebody wants to list there event in my guide i quite often do this free of charge but simple ask for a link back.

It is links like this i would like to monitor.

i really cant see anything wrong with this.

Systemized reciprocal linking may be deemed a violation of search engine guidelines so it's not a well-advised practice for SEO.

That said, if you just link out to sites you want to show to your visitors and not worry about reciprocation, you'll save yourself time and trouble.

Christ, i didn't realize reciprocal links was such a big no no no?!!

i thought if you exchanged a few links with other websites within your niche this was quite acceptable and normal.

Exchanging a few links with other sites is okay, especially if most of your links are not exchanged.

But having a reciprocal links program or page is probably not a good idea.
