The fact that it is unwise to link to your page as index.html made me think what about all your other internal links -

is it better to link ".../my-page.html" or "http://www.mysite.co...m/my-page.html" - i.e. the FULL URL?

I just want to be sure thanks

Makes no difference to search engines, presuming you have no parked domains that are the same as your main one. In which case you would want to use the absolute URL rather than the relative one.
