Hi,
I have taken over a new site which is about a month old. Right now the index.html page uses a 301 redirect to a subdirectory (kitchen-design) where the joomla site is located. It was built in the subdirectory so that the old site could remain working until the new site was ready. (BTW, the old site was just a Flash site on the index page so there was no huge SEO benefit since it was not optimized at all).
How important is it that this site get moved to root? Because it's Joomla it may be a little trickier to move then a plain HTML site so I thought I would check first. Is there an advantage to the site being located at the actual root (for SEO) instead of in the keyword titled subdirectory?
Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.
