Increasing Qualified Leads Without Broad-matching Keywords

Hi guys,

Need some opinion here.

I am currently running my 95% of my keywords in exact match, so as to streamline the traffic into more relevant visitors who will have a higher chance of converting.

The issue is, I am having $60 budget/day but only half of the budget is nicely utilized in both Search and Display.

I do not want to change my keywords to broad match as I do not want less-qualified leads to be generated.

To increase the click/ctr and budget usage, what would you do? any suggestion?

On a separate note, how do you guys conjure up your list of keywords?
For a start I will just brainstorm off the back of my brain, use the keyword tool to find relevant keywords, client's website etc.
I read somewhere about using broad/modified broad keywords and then look at the keywords searchers used to find the products and then add in long-tails from there.
The question is, where do I find these words that the users used to find my ads? Search funnel only covers our own inputs, right?

I'm no Adwords expert, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but you might want to temporarily try modified broad match and then add negative keywords for those that are not relevant.

That's probably your best bet for finding other keywords.

thanks jill! tried that actually.
previously my campaign was only on exact matches.
drove good streamlined traffic but not enough.
i had change most of the matching options to modified broad and phrase.
situation improved but am thinking how to improve it further.
