I have a MediaWiki site, and the normal url for a page is:
www.example.com/wiki/index.php?title=thispage
I've made it so that
example.com/thispage redirects (301) to
www.example.com/wiki/index.php?title=thispage
Should I use/encourage these links? Could this cause any SEO problems? I know Google will index the long ugly end result, but the short ones look much nicer for people linking in to the site.
