Hi
I've a site with about 4,500+ pages, all of which have a top-of-page "home" graphic that points to my homepage.
At the moment the alt attribute simply says "home", which I want to change to incorporate a keyword/phrase.
If I go for say, "Home of cheap red widgets", or "Find cheap red widgets" or even just "cheap red wigdets", will this be deemed spammy given it's coming from about 4,500 pages?
(For what it's worth, on about 30 of the strongest internal pages, I plan to use a range of different keyword phrases).
Thanks

It should probably be your site name. If it makes sense to add a tagline as well which perhaps contains your keyword phrase, that would be okay.
You should know that this won't have the kind of effect it once did years ago. Probably none, but worth a try if you can do it without it being spammy.

OK, thanks for the reply, Jill.
But how bad it is if I don't use my site name at all?

It would look spammy if a search engineer ever looked at it.
And it would suck for anyone who might be reading it via a screen reader.
