Say a site (that sells internet products and ebooks) is linked from p**n sites (completely inappropriate), how this is going to affect the PR and search results of the first site?

Linking From Inappropriate Sites?

It shouldn't effect it at all, unless those are the only links it has.
Otherwise competitors could screw you over.

Actually site has around 35,000 links according to Google webmaster tools. Nothing from inappropriate sites in that list.
But recetly we are giving away some free products that need to put the html code on their sites, so recent inappropriate linking.
If this goes, anyway it affects the site? Because I need to take some step now to stop this.
