Hi!
My website always had two language versions: English and Swedish. I have always been wondering about if this hurts my rankings in google.com since I have all my files in the same folder. If I search for English keywords in google.se I have perfect positions, always 1st or 2nd places. If I however search in google.com for the same keywords, my placements aren't that good at all. My site is on a server in USA and not on a Swedish one. The English site is most important to me.
Is there a possibility that my rankings are higher on google.se because I have a Swedish IP even if I search on English keywords? I mean, other websites do have almost same positions in both google.se and google.com.
Should I register a Swedish domain www.mysite.se and remove all Swedish content on the www.mysite.net domain? If so, how do I do that the proper way without getting penalized for possible duplicate content before the new domain gets ranked and the old files disappears from the www.mysite.net cash?
Thanks!
Katja
