Sorry, I just noticed a forum error caused an apparent double post.
Example: I submit my site to a PageRank 3 site, but I notice the link is placed on a PageRank 0 page. My thinking is even though the index page has a rank of 3, the page my site is on is 0, so I get credit for 0, instead of 3, right? In other words, isn't it the PageRank credit you receive from a site determined from the actual page you're link appears on, rather than the rank of the index (Home) page?

You only get credit for the page your link is on. Why would the home page PR have anything to do with how much PR you get if that's not where your page is?

That said, you have no idea how much PageRank the page where you link is has, as there's no way to measure that. (And no, the Google Toolbar won't help in that matter.)
