My quick guide to British games:
1. Soccer (aka "football") - We aren't talking about that one
2. Cricket - baseball for people with patience
3. Rugby Union - God's game. That is the one this refers to
4. Rugby League - Only Aussies play it well, and we are so good at it, the rest of the world has given up caring.
England are the reining cghamps of Rugby. The rest of the world finds this situation deplorable. Their recent loss to Ireland a glorious bright spot!

The Rugby World Cup was a low point not because we lost it, but more because we let England off the hook by letting them have some silverware.

England were the best team in the world at the WC. They won it fair and square.
Having lost Wilkinson (injury) and Johnson (IMO the main man), amongst others, they are rebuilding to a certain degree.
It was especially good considering the amount of stick the team took in the Australian media.
Anyway, rugby and football apart, you beat us every time!

1 Chariot, swinging low to one side, slightly wobbly, runs well on reputattion, was white, now slightly green.
Apply to Sir Clive Woodward, Twickers.
This was posted on the BBC rugby forum where I post and was removed after someone complained about the post.
Rugby is serious, but it is supported by nutters, thats the way of the game.

Wee shame ... <snigger>
Never mind; one day, Scotland will win a few games of something, and then you too can laugh

You should have seen me! Especially when their manager decided to run down the touchline and jump up and down in front of the fans.
Needless to say I switched off soon after!
OWG - I have looked at the BBC Football forums and they're quite funny. Like little kids half of them arguing who is best!
