Most of the times when I open a page on my website, the loading bar keeps showing "loading", on all browsers. But my website seems fully loaded. After a minute or so, it stops saying "loading".

What is causing this and what can I do about it? How bad is it for SEO? I heard load time is important these days.

No idea on both counts.

But at a guess it's likely to be a javascript that is not loading.

ADD the LiveHTTP Headers extension in FireFox to see what is happening to the HTTP requests.

"Load time" and "rendering time" are two different things. The page not appearing in a browser is rendering time which is something that the Google crawler and indexer so NOT do.

Thank you for the tip. I have done that now. This is what it says when it loading:

HTTP/1.1 304 Not Modified
Date: Sat, 29 Jan 2011 15:31:34 GMT
Expires: Tue, 08 Feb 2011 15:31:34 GMT
Cache-Control: max-age=864000
Connection: close
Server: YTS/1.17.13

This is what it says when it is done loading:

HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8
Cache-Control: no-cache, no-store, max-age=0, must-revalidate
Pragma: no-cache
Expires: Fri, 01 Jan 1990 00:00:00 GMT
Date: Sat, 29 Jan 2011 15:39:21 GMT
X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff
X-XSS-Protection; mode=block
Content-Lenght: 11
Server GSE

Any idea what is causing it?

Thank you!

What about all the requests in between the start and finish? Because it is one of those that will be causing the "slowdown"
