Avoiding Duplicate Content With Robots.txt

I know, I know, you now think: "USE .HTACCESS!". Problem is that I'm hosted at Yahoo Small Business and they dont give you any access to your .Htaccess.

I think my only solution is robots.txt? It says "/" and "/index.html" are the same. Would you advice this Robots.txt?

User-agent: *
Disallow: /index.html

I'm only afraid that it would no longer index my main page at all.

I would let the search engines sort it out themselves, and simply never link to the index.html.
