Hi Guys,

We are doing a redesign of our site at the moment.

As part of the redesign we will receive an updated version of our CMS, and it will now be "dynamic"

By switching to a dynamic cms does this mean that all the content will become dynamic, or does it mean that we can post static pages dynamically, or whenever we like?

I am bit confused as to what is the difference between Dynamic and Static CMS versus Dynamic Content and Static Content, or are they the same thing?

I am worried about the SEO ramifications.

At the end of the day, most dynamic content becomes statics when it's all put together as a web page.

As long as there are links to any piece of content it doesn't matter whether it's dynamically generated or hard coded in a static manner.

So most likely you have nothing to worry about. The exception would be if the only way to get to certain parts of your site were through the use of a search box. That would not be good as the resulting pages may not be found, read or indexed by the search engines.

Our site will remain the same (information architecture, majority of links etc.) with just a facelift, so should be ok.
