Hello all,
Please can you help?
I have 5 search phrases to optimize for after some search phrase research. Unfortunately 4 of them mean essentially the same thing so I am having difficulty optimising my home page.
Mobile Marketing
Mobile Phone Marketing
Text Marketing
SMS Marketing
Mobile Coupons
Mobile coupons is fine as I can dedicate a single sub page to this and optimize accordingly but I dont know how to best optimize my home page.
Do I just optimize for Mobile Marketing and ignore the other three?
If I have a dedicated sub page to Mobile Marketing can I also optimize this page for Mobile Marketing or will this damage the optimization of my home page? I'm guessing it'ss essential that I optimize for my most important search phrase on my home page? Also if my home page is optimized for 'Mobile Marketing' will it damage it if I have a link from my homepage to a sub page that uses Mobile Marketing in the anchor text?
Lots of questions I know but Im new to the game and eager to learn.
Any help is hugely appreciated.

ALL pages are "home" pages to Search Engines, it's only you that thinks your "home" page is the only one that matters.
Start learing by reading the Tips for Newbies (yes they are "old" but good practice NEVER goes "out of date"

Hey - Thanks for the reply, I have a few questions still.
1. Is it not the case that the website should have a theme and that all the pages on the site contribute to that theme and therefore should lift the ranking of the homepage as a whole?
2. Also if my main page is targeted for the key phrase "Mobile Marketing" will it be damaging to that homepage if I have a link from the home page to a sub page with the anchor text of Mobile marketing Facts or something similar?
3. Can I optimize my home page for
Mobile Marketing
Mobile Phone Marketing
Text Marketing &
SMS Marketing
or are these phrases too similar so should I just stick to one phrase?
Thank you for your help.

Correct. It is not the case.

No. It would likely be helpful for both pages.

Yes. And now you've just optimized this forum page for these as well.
