My site had only 5-7 links from a very reputable website, (charity) that I am sure passed on a lot of link juice to us in that we had PR 4. This suddently dropped to PR 1 which I understand is likely due to a lack of backlinks.
I have now built up and am building up links to the site some of which are very nice/reputable sites etc, and I have a very active SEO/SEM mix which touches on a bit of everything - so I am positive to get up the rankings.
My point and question is, I am not placing much interest in my PR - I mean it does seem to have a value but Im simply more interested in doing many things white hat and correctly - am I naive not to place emphasis on PR - do you guys even bother with it or do you use it as a simple litmus test?
Thanks
