Hi all. After a serious drop in SE-referred traffic to my #1 site I set it up with Google Webmaster Tools. I know I should have done this a long time ago but traffic had been growing nicely and everything was going well...

Over the years I've changed the URL structure a few times, and I've added and removed content from my site. Many times previousy I didn't worry about 301 redirecting old urls, especially when the site was smaller and of less concern to me than it's grown to be.

But anyhow, Webmaster Tools has shown me that I have a lot of links from other sites to old pages that are no longer found at my website. More than I thought I would have. And I was wondering if it would help for me to redirect those links to actual pages at my website. I honestly don't think I'm getting many referrals from those links, but I wonder if I'm missing out on the page authority/link popularity boost they'd bring if they didn't turn up 404 errors?

Thanks,
Gregg

Yes.

It certainly couldn't hurt.
