Hi ..
I was wondering if search engines take in consideration backlinks with the anchor text being only a part of your tageted keyword ..
Let me explain myself ..
If I want to rank for the Keyword "Boston seo" ... having backlinks with the anchor "seo" and other with the anchor "Boston" only .. will it help me to rank for "boston seo" ??
Any thoughts will be welcomed ..

Maybe, maybe not. But typically a one-word anchor isn't very helpful to site users.

I've got no proof, but I would expect links anchored by "Boston SEO" and "SEO company" to help a page rank for "Boston SEO company" -- not as much as the full phrase would, but certainly more than "Detroit architectural firm" would.

Links only build traffic and do not have a measurable influence on search ranking positions.
Links will build PR which is separate from search ranking.
Anchor text is best in building links.

Yes, but the anchor text of a link does influence ranking.

Partial link anchor text helps. SEOs have been using partial-match anchor text for years to create variation in inbound anchor text that is still relevant and useful.

That's absolutely false.
