Will having failed html validation or css validation affect your rankings at all? I used the validator at w3.org.

If your page renders fine in all browsers, then no, not validating won't affect your rankings.

IMO it depends on what the errors are, if they are invalid or missing title tags, then I would argue yes it will affect your ranking.

If they are malformed heading tags, alt attributes or anchor text again depending on whether google's in built error correction is able to handle the error then yes it could have a detremental affect on your ranking / indexing.

So it depends what the error is as to whether it will affect your page's ranking! is there a reason you are not able to fix any errors and get the page to validate?
