Hi,
I have a site that sells products in the UK, but has just started offering international shipping. The products is not widely available in the US so I would like to target this market. I have read the pinned thread in this forum but I'm still a little confused as to the best way to proceed.
The current site has a .co.uk domain and is set to geotarget the UK in Google webmaster tools. Should I set up an almost identical site on a .com domain to target the US market or can I use a sub-domain? What will happen if much of the content is duplicated, will one site be filtered out of all searches or will Google be able to figure out there is one site for the UK and one for the US? With the language being the same I don't see the need to change much.
Cheers,
Jake
