Recently when doing a keyword rank check for one of my main keywords, I noticed that Google was returning pages on my site not as relevant for that particular keyword. The page that should be in the SERP, one of my main category pages (in the main navigation) was not showing up at all.
Then I did a site:www.mysite.com/main-cat-page and the page did not return a result - this should be the page the is first in the list.
I have checked everything that I can think of - disallow, nofollow, noindex, robots.txt. I resubmitted the sitemap.
Is there anything that can be happening that I am just not catching or thinking of.
Just a side note, I know that page is in the index (somewhere) because when I did a search for a less popular keyword, it returned that main category page (on the 5th SERP).
Any insight would be great - Thanks!
