It might help you get indexed in that country faster. But I'm not positive. You might want to read the pinned thread here in the International SEM Issues Forum where I've moved yours that talks about the effects of hosting in your country.

In my experience hosting company location (server location) has absolutely no effect on rankings whatsoever.
What does have an impact is the tld (.com.au .co.uk etc.) ... they are automatically given a boost in the rankings for that countries particular Google (Google.com.au and Google.co.uk etc.).
If you're using a .com then sign up for a Google Webmaster account and specify which country you'd like to target via that ... it'll work exactly the same.
