How come I am unable to view members profiles on here?

I am receiving a permissions error when I try:-

"Sorry, but you do not have permission to use this feature. If you are not logged in, you may do so using the form below if available."

I am getting this even when trying to view my own profile.

Thanks

I can't believe that was actually my 1st post either, I've been on this forum for ages, I'm sure I have posted before. Haha

Even though you registered about a year and a half ago, it looks like the two posts above are your first. Because of that, the forum software is treating you as a new member, which limits some of your capabilities. Just get involved in a few discussions and you'll have full member status in no time.

And a belated welcome to HR hi.gif

@Hic, in answer to your signature question:

QUOTE
Why the hell I'm not an "Active member" in this forum yet ???!!

It's due to multiple violations of the Forum Rules since you became a member.

Hope that helps.

P.S. a signature like that doesn't really help your case any.

It means that if I violated the terms once (and I don't know when ??) , then I will be banished for one year ?

BTW

<insert type="grammar police">
Your signature is actually a statement rather than a question.

"I'm" being a contraction of "I am". Therefore "Why I'm not" expands to "Why I am not"; whereas I would assume it was your intent to enquire "Why am I not ..."

You should be able to change your avatar and view your own profile, just not those of others.

haggisv when you see your name at the top right corner of the forum, click the arrow and then click "my settings." You should be able to upload an avatar there.

Ahh yes you're right, that part does work.

Phhh, much better now than that blank face. :shades:

BTW What is the criteria to be able to view profiles? Is it a certain number of posts? I don't remember doing anything naughtly in the past... :sorry:

I don't remember what the criteria is, but can check. For the most part, viewing the profiles tends to be used by spammers, so I've mostly disabled it. Is there a reason you want to see them? Perhaps that would give me some reason to make the profiles more readily available to others.

Nothing specific, but since I spend quite a bit of time on forums, I often click on people's profile if they make useful or interesting posts, just to see if they provide a little more information on what they're all about. Sometimes that's useful as it can give you an idea of their experience, their background and other projects they may be involved in. That's where I see the value of profiles.
