Just to let you know that the redirect is pretty much over. I have 1.5 X my visitors. It was really the right thing to do. This is a lesson that when you look at what will be the best for your visitors. You always win!

What is it that you did that got you out of your penalty Marchy? You did nothing and just waited 2.5 years, or changed something recently that popped you out?
-50 penalties like this are often caused by crosslinking, you didn't have any crosslinking going on did you?

At the beginning I did bunch of stuff like rewriting content cause of duplicate, I communicated with all the link I got in the last 6 months prior to the penalty asking them to remove their links which most of them did.
Then I did not do anything except the template of the site adding a little content here and there.
But for the last year I did not do anything. Not one thing and it came back in the good grace!
