Back Link Two Key Phrases From The Same Page - Does It Work?
Posted 23 February 2010 - 10:08 AM
There seems to be two different opinions on this.
1) google ignores the second keyphrase
2) google doesn't ignore the 2nd one but it doesn't weight as much as 1st one.
Any opinions on this. I have read two different articles and they both have different opinions.
I am going to do some blog postings and I dont know whether to go for one anchor text link or 2,3 different anchor text.

However, that doesn't necessarily mean that the second link never counts. It's possible that the presence of the anchor text on the target page would serve as a signal that the anchor text of the second link is relevant, and that it therefore would be made to count. But that would be a lot harder to prove

it is probably best to place max 3 anchor text links and place the most important one on the top. problem solved.
Thinking that there will be only 3 links going to the same page form the blog page. It should be fine.
Any opinion on that. 3 links to one url or 1 link to 1 url?

So the question is whether there's a benefit. From a ranking perspective, the evidence seems to be inconclusive. But from the perspective of usability, it's really a matter of common sense. If the content of a given page is dealing with something that's also relevant to the content of another page you should certainly put a link there.
