I currently have a blog that runs along with my e-commerce/online classifieds site. It was set up in Blogger at my SEO's recommendation - his logic being that Google should like things that it owns. If you search for terms that are in my blog, whether they are very specific or very general, I'm always ranking better in Yahoo than Google, and I'm talking instances where I'm top 5 in Yahoo and don't even show up in Google. Generally speaking, my main site rankings are fairly similar between Yahoo and Google.
This certainly isn't a life or death situation, it's just something that makes me a little curious, and of course I'd like to rank highly on all engines for all things!

Above you are talking about your blog...right??
What do you mean by this..relative to your blog? (below) I am confused by what you are saying. Or what your problem is??
Generally speaking, my main site rankings are fairly similar between Yahoo and Google.

has anyone ever heard of this and is it something i should be concerned about?
If you're asking if anyone's heard of a site ranking well in Yahoo but not Google (or the other way around), sure, it happens all the time.
That's why you optimize for tons of phrases in which case some will do well in Google while others may do well in Yahoo.

Do you have a similar amount of links pointing to both your blog and your main site? If not, that may be part of the answer you're looking for.
