Auto Surf Programs
Posted 02 March 2004 - 04:23 PM
I've been a 'lurker' for a while and have subscribed to Jill's newsletter for even longer. I finally have a question that I can't seem to find the answer to by searching these forums.
A client has asked me if it is worth using Auto Surf programs. Until he asked, I didn't know they existed. Perhaps I've led a shelter internet life, but these seem to be one thing that have passed me by. Now a quick google for auto surf programs has brought up a whole host of get traffic quick and easily schemes. Am I correct in thinking these are just another money making (for the scheme owners) scam that probably doesn't help the client much and could potentially do more harm than good?
The client is hoping to generate sufficient website traffic that he can justify selling advertising space on his site.
All advise gratefully received

How would using an auto-surf program would generate sufficient website traffic to justify selling advertising space on the site?
Auto-surf programs come in various flavours, but it's highly unlikely that you will achieve your aim using them.

It was my client's suggestion to use an auto-surf programme. I was just wondering exactly what they do, as I hadn't heard of them before.
It turned out my husband had heard of them (leads a much seedier internet life than me!) and I advised the customer against using them.
Thanks for your reply.

It sounds like your client is looking to send fake traffic to advertisers in order to boost CPC rates or justify a monthly amount... obviously a bad idea... but it sounds like you figured that out on your own!
