I have a Blog where I regularly discuss things/products that may be of interest to my customers/visitors, and I link back to my website using my key terms.
Would this be seen as a link from "outside" or is Google clever enough to know that I own the blog and site? Am I likely to get penalised for this?
It makes sense to link to the site from my blog (for the sake of my visitors/customers) so I'm hoping this is OK, and on occasion I might also link from my site to my blog.
Any thoughts?

Yes, they probably know you own it, which is fine. You shouldn't hide the fact.
No, you shouldn't get penalized for it assuming it makes sense to link the way you're linking from a user perspective.

Thanks Jill, that was what I was hoping.
