Hi Guys,

First post here and I've got a question for everyone.. embarrassed.gif
Or actually more then 1:

I'm looking for .co.uk "startpages"... So almost like a directory, but where you can register and manage you own subdomain. (for example like thisismyownlinkpage.domain.co.uk)

- What is the correct English term for these kind of websites? (startpagina's in Dutch). I was thinking "portal pages", "startpages", "gateway pages", but none of these searh terms really give much usefull results.
- Is it just me, or is it really uncommom in Great Brittain to have these kind of Startpages/Portals?

So I don't really need a list of them (although that would be awesome!), but some help on using the correct keywords in my research would be great.
It's hard to find what you're looking for if you don't know the correct term... search.gif

Thanks for your answer.

Do you might know the correct term for this in English? I don't mind doing research but I'm not sure I'm using the correct search terms.. :-(

Or maybe 1 or 2 examples to get me started?
It's not a big issue if they're payed or not.

Would be a massive help! notworthy.gif

@svennemans

I can't really think of a better way to describe it than 'start pages' really (I'm from the UK). I don't think 'portal pages' is accurate enough, as a portal generally encapsulates a bunch of information - whereas this would be a stand-alone sub-page.

Are you basically offering this service to provide people with a means of setting up a basic website for themselves?

I'm looking for these kind of pages, to use them for local linkbuilding.
In the Netherlands and Belgium this isn't a problem and some of these are actually quite valuable and pass a nice amount of link juice.
