When a domain is forwarded to a domain which contains a analytics code, will this count as a visitor/hit or will this not be done?

The hit should still show up in your analytics, but you may be missing some data. Depending a bit upon how the redirect is being done.

For instance, if you use one of the normal HTTP Header redirects (302, 301, etc) you will not see any Referrer data for the hit. It'll look like Direct traffic even though technically it's not. This happens because HTTP Header redirects do not contain referrer string data.

Nothing too serious, but something to be aware of. Because if a lot of traffic comes through the redirect it will artificially inflate your Direct visits numbers.

It will count as a visitor to the resulting domain, not the one that is being forwarded.
