It was a pretty bad fall - my daughter Kestra was running across a lawn which looked like it was covered in snow but was really ice with a little bit of snow on top. When she slipped and fell I turned quickly to help her and slipped, myself. She was fine - I wasn't.
Apparently I cracked my fibula, sheared my tibula in half, and pulled the bone out of the socket - in the process ripping all my ligaments and so forth. Yes, it hurt
So now I have a plate and some screws in one bone, several screws in another, and one big screw all the way through my ankle - which isn't load bearing, so I can't walk or drive for 6 weeks. I'm also told that it'll be messed up permanently
So now I'm on painkillers, but the good news is that I have a home office and work full time as an SEO, so once I'm able to sit down without feeling dizzy (hopefully tomorrow) I'll be back to work
I think I'll also be able to make the SES in May, as well, which is good
BTW, thanks to Lisa for posting the note! And thanks to everyone for their kind condolances - and especially thanks to Gary for understanding - I felt really bad about missing the meeting
I'm going to bed now - I'll probably be back in a couple days once I've caught up with everything (and got back to Gary)
Thanks again, all!
