I friend set up a Google Adwords campaign for a client without telling me. Subsequently I was able to access the campaign from within my Google account, but cannot figure out how to link it to the Analytics I have set up for that clients website. How can i do this so I can monitor the paid keywords vs the organic ones?

(Also - how were they able todo this without having to verify the account in some way? This means that anyone can set up google campaigns for anyone's website?)

You have to go through the adwords interface to hook it up with the analytics. (Not the other wayaround.)

Aha!! Got it! Thanks!

Am I correct in understanding you obviously don't need to verify site ownership in order to set up AdWords for a site??? Seems odd, no?

I'm not really sure about that. (I'm more on the SEO end of things.) But I would imagine anyone can advertise for someone else's site if they want to. (Don't know why they would tho!)

yeah - I guess it doesn't make sense why anyone would want to spend money for a competitor to get hits... just seems like there might be a malicious tactic available somewhere in that realm that's a bit worrying... but that's beyond way what i care about just now :-)
