Hi, I just started up a new forum site using PHPBB3 and the generated routing looks like:
mydomain.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=2
and the title tag looks like:
<title>MyDomain.com • View forum - Comedy</title>
and the metatags look like:
<meta name="keywords" content="" />
<meta name="description" content="" />
Now I have three SEO issues:
how much does it matter:
1. that no keywords are in the routing?
2. the metatags for keywords and description are blanked out
3. the title contains "&bull"
Thanks in advance for your guidance.

1. Doesn't matter. Case in point, do you see any keywords in the url for this thread?
2. Keywords Meta -> Doesn't matter. Google completely ignores this tag. Yahoo looks, but doesn't give it any great weight.
Description Meta -> Matters a little, but not a lot. And even then more for what shows up in the Snippet in a SERP page than for the actual ranking of the page. For dynamic, user created content you couldn't do much with it anyway, other than put in some stock description. Which would then be there for every page of the forum so not really do you much good.
3. I've never seen that the spiders have issues with that one. My guess is they'll gloss right over it, but as long as it doesn't stop the spider from reading the rest of the title it won't cause any great harm.

Dear Randy,
Thanks.
Like many website owners, I often find myself worrying about things that may not matter.
Thank you for clearing this set of worries off my desk.
Best Wishes,
