Lost Ranking For Only One Keyword
Posted 15 September 2009 - 01:26 PM
Based on the good advise I have been doing SEO and doing well in Google so thats to you all.
I'm currently in a dilemma after seeing my website go out of Google for a particular keyword, not able to find any reasonable answer for that
lets take an example of the keyword with three words "123 abc xyz"
The current results are
"123 abc xyz" - rank 1
'abc xyz' - ranky - rank 12
"123 xyz" - 4
Only for my main keyword 123 abc, I was ranking 9-11 for the last 2 months and all of a sudden my website does not show up in the first 30 pages. My homepage shows-up somewhere on the 6th page as usual. I'm wondering if this is any kind of a penalty from google.
Let me know if my examples are confusing and I will try my best to give a better example

Why are you wondering that? Did you do something that they would penalize for?
They don't just penalize regular ole sites for no reason, I'm sure you realize that, right?

I tried to reason out on this particular keyword which I have been closely monitoring for the last 1 month and was optimizing this to make it more relevant. I have been doing SEO for the last 5 years and I did not try anything unusual in this regard. If all the keywords related to this page did not show up, I would have thought I've done something that G did not particularly like
But all the combinations show up pretty well and only one keyword is dropped and that surpised me

My website is listed where it belonged!
Not sure why it went out of favour for this particular key, nor i know the reason why it is listing back! I'm delighted though
Let me know if anyone has faced this situation in the past
The only difference I found when I lost the ranking is the link "Translate" next to the page and now its listing good and that link has dissappeared!!

Sure, it happens all the time.
The cure is to not look at where it ranks and then you rarely notice.
