With one of our customers - a Danish company - we are beginning to launce international sites. We have chosen to use web hosting in the various countries, because - as I understand it - the domain extension (.co.uk, .de, .nl, .dk etc.) and/or the Ip number is of some importance (maybe minor) when it comes to high rankings on Google.
But what is most important:
- The ip number or the domain extension?
The reason for my question:
There are some pretty strict regulations in some countries. F.ex. in Norway only a Norwegian company can register an Norwegian domain (the same goes for other countries). It is no problem to find hosting in Norway with locally placed servers, so if the ip number should be our major concern, we could f.ex. use the extension .biz. .info or others.
Many thanks in advance for your input!
