I have a client whose name is very unique. I was contacted by someone in china that someone there was registering their name using suffixes such as .cn /.com.cn /.net.cn/.hk/ .asia/. This person suggested we contact them if we wanted to stop this. I'm wondering if this is a scam or should we register their name with these suffixes so that Chinese knockoffs don't use these suffixes.

I thought as much, but I haven't had much experience with the Chinese market or its process.
