We received a notice from a company in china saying that another asian company has sent in an application to register our domain for .cn and other asian companies and of course, they can protect it for us for a fee.

This sounds really fishy to me. I have checked and no one has registered our domain in china or other asian countries in the pacific rim.

Because of our business, the CEO/President/Owner long decided we don't do business with countries in that part of the world because they do not have strong intellectual property protection laws.

We are not doing any type of international seo/sem and when I have asked about possibly doing sites in other countries that we do sell our products and services into, the CEO has told me no.

Anyone seen this type of thing before...Any thoughts or comments.
