Use Of Urls With Or Without Full Domain In Code

I think I read quite some time ago (not sure where) that using the full domain name in the a href tags is better than just using the abbreviated version of internal links.

More specifically I mean that:

<a href="http://www.mydomain....ir/my-page/">my anchor text</a>

would be better in terms of SEO than:

<a href="/my-dir/my-page/">my anchor text</a>

What are your thoughts on this? Does the above make sense?

You're talking about  absolute vs. relative links[/hr]. We have many previous discussions on them if you click that link.
