We have created an additional sitemap xml file, previously there was sitemap.xml file, we have created another named sitemap2.xml and created one sitemap index file named sitemap_index.xml which has following contents

We have previously sitemap.xml crawled.. so i kept that file as is and created sitemap_index.xml and submitted to google webmaster tools, Now my questions are

1. As we have previsouly sitemap.xml added in google webmaster tool, should I remove that?
2. after adding the sitemap_index.xml.. now google shows all links cached in sitemap_index.xml while the previous sitemap.xml shows correct but not indexed any pages? so is this remove all my previous cached urls??

Please check and let me know if we are doing any mistake

I don't know, but I would assume you could remove any old sitemap and only keep your up-to-date one, if that's what you're asking.
