I was looking at some sites for my main keyword and when checking into the backlink profile of one of them I saw some really strange backlinks. All seem to come from similar sounding sites and all get forwarded to my default internet providers search (meaning the pages don't exist anymore) and even the main domains dont' seem to be valid. Is this person using some sort of blackhat technique and if yes how does it work. Here are some sample URL's of where their backlinks are from:

<domain addresses removed>

Or is this just some link farm network that's servers are down?

There seems to be dozens more. Any insight?

Why immediately suspect black hat?

You're getting redirected to your ISP's search because that's the default set up in your browser. It's happening because not only are the sites not hosted anywhere right now, the domain names of the three you mentioned aren't even currently registered domains.

In other words, they're not doing a thing to help any site they may have linked to in the past.
