If the previous SEO authenticated the site with Google in order to set geotargeting, you'll have to invalidate his authentication. That means removing a meta tag or file from your server.

Is the site actually as relevant to the US market as it is to the Canadian market? Google tweaks its relevance algorithms all the time.

Also, since you had an SEO work on the site, did you check it to make sure he didn't do anything inappropriate (I ask this without assigning intent to his actions)?

Yeah just checked my website is at No 136 on Google US , I am shocked , Its in Top 10 in Google Canada right now , Google Us behaves so different than Google Canada ?

AFAIK, there isn't really a Google "US". Google.com is Google "world," not specific to the US. So the competition is exponentially greater than it would be on any of the regional Google flavors.

And, yeah, it frequently is that different. smile.gif

Torka, I think you're wandering dangerously close to the issue of Semantics. smile.gif

Google.ca does favor Canadian content, as Google.de favors Deutch or Deutchland content.

I think it's reasonable to say that Google.com is "Google US", if one only wants to distinguish between the various regional search engines.

Most of the top 30-40 results are same in Google.ca and Google.com but only I am not there sad.gif
