My website is now 4 months old and achieving high first page ranking on Yahoo and many other search engines, bar Google.

Is this the dreaded Sandbox affect taking place?

Is there anything I can do bar waiting for this affect to stop negative changing my ranking?

Thx

I've not seen a sandbox effect with my new domains anytime in the last year. To the contrary, Google seems to have pretty much reverted back to their old way of doing things where new sites get a bit of a break on the linking requirements for the first six months or so. Even just a good quality link or two and well optimized copy seems to get my new site ranking very well right from the get go.

Don't rest on your laurels if/when you see that with a new site though. Because if you've not gotten a good start on your link building by the time you have to start competing on more level footing your going to take a healthy nosedive out of the SERPs.
