With the good always comes the bad.
TPTB have finally seen the light that SEO helps and want to be involved. - Good!
However, they have read some articles and are now convinced that keyword density is the most important factor. They made this assessment using the "always reliable method" of finding a page that ranks above ours for a certain term and sending it through a free page analyzer. Low and behold it has a higher "keyword density" than our page, so that must be the cure. I've tried to state my case about there being many, many other more important variables to look at and not to waste time on this (our copy is actually fairly decent and straight forward).
So, we have agreed to disagree and they will be making sure we have a higher keyword density than our competitors. Any ideas of where I can find some studies that might get them to look at things a bit more logically? I hate to see too much time wasted on this folly.
